The Legal and Arbitration Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce - Jordan carries out the following tasks:
1-Legal Developments in International Trade
- Raising awareness and clarifying international trade rules and customs.
- Disseminating knowledge about international trade agreements, including banking, maritime transport, and insurance, and their impact on trade exchanges with Jordan.
- Providing recommendations to relevant authorities regarding amendments to local laws to facilitate international trade, including import and export regulations.
- Reviewing the implementation of international trade laws in light of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements.
- Proposing topics for conferences and workshops to be organized by the Chamber.
2-Arbitration Activities
- Explaining the ICC arbitration rules and any updates, highlighting its role as one of the oldest, most stable, and trusted arbitration centers in commercial and industrial dispute resolution.
- Conducting training workshops to prepare a new generation of arbitrators and enhance their expertise.
- Organizing workshops for experienced arbitrators to keep them updated on the latest developments in international commercial arbitration.
- Committee members actively participate in national legislative and procedural amendment committees, contributing their expertise.
